Who in a factory should approve a configurator launch?

A configurator launch should be approved by the people responsible for the decisions it automates. Product specialists verify permitted combinations, commercial owners verify prices, factory teams verify their outputs and IT verifies operation. A single enthusiastic demonstration cannot substitute for those separate decisions.

Assign decision rights before testing starts

Name a responsible role for each acceptance area. Several people can contribute evidence, but an unresolved disagreement needs an owner who can decide what happens next. Otherwise a late catalogue question can become an informal software change without business approval.

Distinguish approving the visual representation from approving technical suitability. A model can look accurate while omitting a manufacturing component or allowing an unsupported dimension.

Give each owner a concrete record

The commercial owner should receive reviewed price examples, not just screenshots of totals. Manufacturing should see component references, units and revisions in the intended output. Sales should complete an ordinary enquiry and an incomplete one without a developer guiding every click.

Keep the evidence connected through a saved configuration. If each team reviews a different product revision, the individual approvals may not establish that the complete process works.

Define what blocks launch and what can follow

A typo and an incorrect component quantity have different consequences. Agree how defects are classified and who can accept a deferred issue. Record the affected workflow and any operating restriction; do not hide critical failures inside a long list of minor improvements.

Also assign post-launch ownership. Someone must respond to new product questions, monitor integrations and maintain the reference tests when the catalogue changes.

Make the Configurix acceptance process part of scope

Use the configurator QA guide to define evidence for a Configurix project. Custom software can connect your sales and factory processes, but your business still needs to approve the product and commercial definitions it supplies.

Can the software supplier approve all product rules?

The supplier can test implementation against agreed rules. Your manufacturer needs an authorized owner to confirm that those rules correctly describe the products your company offers.

Must every stakeholder attend every test?

No. Use focused reviews with traceable records. Bring the owners together when a decision crosses boundaries, such as a product change that affects price, materials and installation scope.
